Fulfilling Westpac's brand promise of support to its customers today, and an investment in a future generation of deposits for tomorrow.

The Outcome

The full design, build and launch of Westpac Pay Pig - an app that taught kids to manage chores, their price tags and their pay days, with their parental 'bosses' at home.

The young digital native

Banks had relied on their analogue signature money boxes as the first step in starting a relationship with the big depositors of the future. Suddenly these weren't cutting it, and percentages of kids learning to save were dwindling.

Creating the experience strategy 

Teaching kids money lessons only works if it's on their terms. By using a channel that 5-10 year olds fixate on (their parent's mobile phones), lesson time became appealing.

Engineering dual engagement

The app enables dual parent/child engagement on one device. Parents log chores, children log their savings goals and progress. The app does the rest.
